Pet funeral services

The loss of a pet is an extremely difficult time in the life of any loving owner. These affectionate animals have given us so much love and happiness during their time at our side. Many of us consider them members of the family in their own right. So when they leave us, it is essential to honour their memory.

That is why we have structured a special ceremony to help you share the grief, celebrate the life of your pet and preserve the precious memories.

The ceremony

The pet funeral service is a time of farewell, reflection and celebration of the pet’s life. It can be customised according to the owner’s preferences and needs. Some choose an intimate and private ceremony, while others prefer to invite friends and family to share memories of their beloved pet.

During the ceremony, poems can be read, prayers recited or words of affection spoken for our pet. This moment of sharing helps to heal the heart and allows all participants to pay tribute to the animal’s extraordinary presence in our lives.

Cremation

With the Single Cremation service, the crematorium is dedicated exclusively to your animal. This will give you the opportunity to give him a final goodbye before cremation. The ashes will be stored in an urn with a photo and nameplate of the animal.

The overall duration of the cremation and subsequent cooling will depend on the size/weight of your pet.

If, on the other hand, you opt for the Collective Cremation service, the ashes will not be returned to you, but will be dispersed in a communal form.

Return

After the completion of the (single) cremation of your pet, the return of the ashes is a moment of great importance. The return is done with respect and sensitivity, and the owner may choose to keep the urn at home or dispose of the ashes in a more meaningful way.

Bureaucratic formalities

When dealing with the loss of a pet, paperwork can be a complicated time to deal with. Nebuloni Funeral Services relieves you of this administrative burden, allowing you to focus on the grieving process and attend the ceremony with peace of mind.

Regulations

In Lombardy, the reference legislation (Regional Law 21 October 2022, no. 20 – BURL no. 43, suppl. of 25 October 2022) imposes the obligation to arrange for the definitive disposition of the body of the deceased animal.

In case of violation, pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 36/2005, art. 4, an administrative sanction of up to € 28,000.00 is provided for. EC 1069/2009 and 142/2011).

Your questions, our answers

Can the body be kept at home before burial?

Yes, even when death occurs in hospital, the body may be transported home after completion of the usual formalities. Preservation and care are recommended, but not mandatory. If the passing away takes place at home, our advice is to entrust it as soon as possible to the custody of a funeral home where the best conditions of maintenance are in place.

What are burial and cremation?

Burial consists of placing the coffin containing the body of the deceased under the ground, either directly or in a grave, and possibly placing a memorial over it to mark the grave and turn it into a place dedicated to the memory of the deceased and meditation. Cremation is the burning of the coffin containing the body of the deceased in a crematorium. After cremation, the ashes are collected in an urn, which may be buried or its contents scattered, depending on the family's choice.
