Your questions, our answers

Can the body be kept at home before burial?

Yes, even when death occurs in hospital, the body may be transported home after completion of the usual formalities. Preservation and care are recommended, but not mandatory. If the passing away takes place at home, our advice is to entrust it as soon as possible to the custody of a funeral home where the best conditions of maintenance are in place.

What are burial and cremation?

Burial consists of placing the coffin containing the body of the deceased under the ground, either directly or in a grave, and possibly placing a memorial over it to mark the grave and turn it into a place dedicated to the memory of the deceased and meditation. Cremation is the burning of the coffin containing the body of the deceased in a crematorium. After cremation, the ashes are collected in an urn, which may be buried or its contents scattered, depending on the family's choice.
